Ellie Liu

Ellie Liu, age 13, is a 8th grader at Stoller Middle School. She began playing the cello at 6 with Hyun-Jin Kim. Ellie enjoys playing in chamber music groups, she is currently the youngest member in Portland Youth Philharmonic, and she was the Assistant Principal of their Young String Ensemble in 2020. As an active performer, Ellie is a winner of the Young Star Award at Amadeus Orchestra Solo Competition and Willamette Falls Concerto Competition, and she was selected to be the finalist of the ASTA competition. She is also a winner of the OMTA Festivals, Great Composer of the Best Bach Performance, The Grand Metropolitan International Music Competition, and American Protégé competition.
